Visual & Performing Art Academy
CREATIVE SELF EXPRESSION...
Community Partnership for Youth (CPY) endeavors to provide our students with the greatest opportunity to learn, and to maximize their emotional and intellectual capabilities.
The arts can embrace these goals and promote such growth. Through participation in the arts, students not only develop their creative and cognitive capacities, but also cross barriers of class, race, language, and culture.
Moreover, by helping students overcome the boundaries of traditionally isolated school disciplines, the arts help connect important concepts. We have endeavored to expose our children to a variety of cognitive resources for locating, creating, and solving problems.
Many of our students have difficulty learning in the concrete teaching environment of school. The Visual & Performing Art Academy broadens students learning and gives them the opportunity to be successful in acquiring skills through verbal and “right-brain” activities. The discipline and group dynamics are teaching the children self-control and appreciation for one another.
CPY's Visual and Performing Art Academy focuses on creative self-expression.
Students have been introduced to a variety of programs in theatre arts, speech communication, dance fitness, music, mural painting and special art projects.
